Welcome to the Nyani Conservancy web site!

The Nyani concervancy was established as part of the bigger Amakulu reserve which in-turn forms part of the Dinokeng project. Our aim is to enlarge the reserve and to introduce more species of game in the area.

The Nyani conservancy falls in the greater Dinokeng area. It is located north of Pretoria, between the Pietersburg highway and the Rust de Winter-/Moloto road.

The Nyani conservancy is a good place to see a large number of bushveld species. Some birds encountered in this area include the African hawk, black-breasted eagle, brown snake eagles, greater kestrel, lesser kestrel, whitebellied korhaan, dusky lark, plainbacked and bushveld pipit. Nearby watercourses malachite kingfisher and dwarf bittern might be found. Around drinking troughs and dense bush expect to see a range of seedeaters, flycatchers and warblers. Great spotted and striped cuckoos are common sightings.  Dry mixed woodland predominates across the reserve, with some areas of open grassland.
